So now I have my little town of Rockridge (yes, Blazing Saddles reference) of 88 years which I have been playing over the last few months.

It makes perfect sense to me, so I thought the mod to be a vital and necessary component in playing the game. Now, a 3 year old girl who was part of the initial settlement is 13 years old in year 10 of the village. I installed one mod "1:1 Aging Mod", which fixes the one complaint I had about the game. I had to restart from the very beginning many times, but each time with a bit more knowledge and understanding of what buildings I should construct first and in what order, the placement of those buildings regarding proximity to resources, homes, and their distance from one another, etc. So, after getting a handle on the basics of the game in several short runs of small villages, I set up my campaign game on Hard difficulty with my own personal "Iron-man"-mode of not allowing myself to roll-back to a previous save file if something major happened. I realized I was avoiding the premis of the game, which was to have to play-though these hardships and/or set your village up in such a way to avoid complete elimination when something major occurred. When I was getting a handle on the game, I would find myself reloading a previous save game after a fire, tornado, or illness wiped out a large section of my town. It's beyond me why the original game developers would create a game with elements of realism containing "years" consisting of the 4 seasons, but yet have the citizens age at such a rapid pace. The only complaint I have is that in the unmodded original game, citizens age super fast.
